About Me

I’m a Mexican American born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I love animals, travelling, reading, and writing. I have a Bachelor’s in English with a concentration in Professional Writing from the University of Illinois Chicago.

I started off my post-secondary career with a goal of becoming a Veterinary Technician. After a year of schooling, I was hit with the hard truth of not getting accepted in the Veterinary Technology program.

It took months of trying to get more veterinary experience to realize the medical field was not for me. I transferred to UIC with eyes on my other dream: writing.

I was set on working in publishing. After semesters full of learning, I found myself doing a wildlife internship as a research intern. I realized I could combine my love of animals with my love of writing.

It is now my goal to work for an organization that shares my passion for caring for animals.
